General

It is assumed that a person’s hand grip strength says something about the body’s general strength. The hand grip strength test is an easy test to measure how strong the body is.

Content

The test consists of the following parts:

  • Test right and left three times each

Procedure

Set the hand grip dynamometer. The base of the dynamometer should rest against the first metacarpal bones. Now grip the hand grip dynamometer. The handle should now be on the center of your four fingers.

Now squeeze the dynamometer as hard as possible for approximately five seconds. Read the number and repeat the test three times. Write down the highest score and compare it with the table below. Try not to move the rest of your body while squeezing. For a good result it is important that you only move your hand during the test.

It is also important that testing always takes place under the same circumstances and in the same way. You will get varying results if your arm is bend or straightened when squeezing. So make sure that the circumstances are always the same.
